Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin business, and held shares of the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer club. Maureen was the second of six FitzSimons children - Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen enjoyed playing sports as a kid and was a pro in athletics. This interest was combined with a natural talent for performance. This was apparent when she was awarded every Feis for theatre and drama that Ireland had to offer. When she turned 14, she was admitted into the world-renowned Abbey Theater and pursued her dreams of classical theatre as well as operatic vocals.
